Gig with Steve Holley of Wings Fame

I received a call from my childhood friend Dimitri a singer from the old neighborhood. We were in competitive bands back then but lost contact with him for many years. Anyway..fast forward my twin brother,Edwin bump into him a couple of years ago and started playing bass with his band, The Black Coffee Blues Band.

The band consist of many establish band members from the New York City area;

Popa Chubby, Blues guitar player signed to Alligator records, and Arther Neilson, Cindy Lauper on guitars respectively.

Dimitri called me up one day and asked if I wanted to play with him; of course I said yes. I was real excited for him informed me that Steve Holley from the band Wings will be playing drums; so the journalist in me said, ummm, I can asked him what was it like to play with Paul McCartney and such.

Any way the gig went well, and I played my best blues licks as well as some country stuff.

I got a chance to asked him many questions which I asked him during a break if this is ok, his beautiful girlfriend was with him, Ms Mary Claire and was amused and supported with my questions.

We talked about many shows and jams he was involve like playing with Paul Rogers of Bad Company, the Band Queen, and Paul McCartney. He informed after this gig he will be flying to California to open for his friend... Albert Lee...
